High school club t-shirts

Ug, got sick for the first time in about 1 1/2 years… Managed to avoid it for so long and then the combination of sudden cold weather + sick boyfriend did me in. Not fun times, but now recovering…

For today, I have some old t-shirt designs that I did in high school.

I think I did this design in 10th grade for Media Club… For school clubs, I chose to be in “media club,” which sounds cool, but actually it’s the library club, AKA the “media center” club. We didn’t really do anything except raise money for the weekly meeting donut fund and have a canned food drive. Deceptively, this shirt design would make you think our club was more about a more widespread thought of media, but no. Either way, they accepted this design and it was silkscreened on the back of our lime-green shirts.

I did this design for the Foreign Language International Club (AKA FLIC) in 11th grade. This was put on the back of white t-shirts. Since it was for FLIC, she’s like “flicking” the world at you… get it? Eh? Eh? There was a competition for the design, and I think I won some moolah for this one, like $25 or something. Oh yeah, the sweet dough.

Lastly, I made this shirt for a business club called DECA (I have no idea what it stands for) in 12th grade. I did a color version of the design, but they cheaped out last minute and went for the B&W lineart, printing it in blue onto yellow t-shirts. In the colored version, the guy had brown hair and the girl had red hair (my default hair colors men and women at the time) so they kind of ended up looking like Mulder and Scully. If they hadn’t been so cheap we could have had pseudo X-Files t-shirts! But oh well. I don’t really know why I knew about this club… It was probably because I took Advertising as an elective and the teacher lady was head of the club I think? Who knows.

Well, hope you enjoyed looking at these old designs. I’m pretty sure I still have these shirts somewhere… Check back on Monday for some more Festering Romance art!
