Fanart Contest – Win a copy of Festering Romance!

Can’t find Festering Romance in your area? Don’t have the money to buy your own copy? Accidentally destroyed your friend’s copy and now need a way to replace it? Well, now you can WIN your own copy of Festering Romance! Today I’ll be kicking off the first of four different contests that will be announced in this and the next few blog posts! First up is a fanart contest!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTRY:

Step 1: Draw a fanart of any character, characters, or situations from Festering Romance. If you do not own a copy of the book or can’t check out a friend’s copy, you can get more info about Festering Romance on this blog (try the Festering Romance tag) or the official Festering Romance website which includes a 40+ page preview of the book.

Step 2: Upload a jpeg of your image (width of 500 pixels or less) onto a website (your website, deviantart, flickr, photobucket, etc) and link to it/embed it in a comment on this post. Make sure the e-mail address that you use in EMAIL field of the the comment form is the e-mail address that would be best to contact you with in case you are a winner. Comments on this blog are moderated, so your comment may not show up immediately. DO NOT E-MAIL IMAGE FILES TO ME. I don’t want my e-mail bogged down with big files, so I will state now that I will NOT review artwork that is attached to an e-mail. Only comments on this blog post linking to or embedding the commenter’s piece of fanart will be considered valid entries.

Step 3: All comments including links to/embedding fanart that would be considered entries for this contest must be received by midnight EST on September 28, 2009.

Step 4: On my October 2, 2009 blog post, I will announce the winners of the fanart contest and contact the winners individually via the e-mail addresses they registered with on their original entry comment. All entrants will then be asked for their consent to post their credited fanart on the Fanart section of the Festering Romance website.

PRIZES

2 lucky entrants will receive wonderful free prizes!

First place prize: a signed copy of Festering Romance, a copy of the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Bonus Book, a set of Festering Romance pins, a Mobile Fridge mini-comic, and A Brief Affair mini-comic.

Second place prize: a signed copy of Festering Romance and a copy of the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Bonus Book.

EDIT: A few clarifications – Due to high prices for international shipping, I can only ship prizes within the US and Canada. So, if you live outside the US or Canada, you may submit fanart or entries for the other contests, but you will not be eligible to receive the prizes. Also, if you have received or are going to receive a free copy of the book from me anyway, you may still enter the contests, but please consider leaving the prizes for entrants who do not already have copies of the book and let me know.

OTHER RULES AND INFORMATION:
By entering, all entrants agree that they are age appropriate for the area in which they live to receive a book with a 13+ age rating that contains profanity. All artwork will remain the property of the artist/artists who created it, but all Festering Romance characters and situations remain the property of Renee Lott. Artwork and/or comments that contain offensive or inappropriate material may or may not be approved at the discretion of Renee Lott. The ultimate judge for the winners of this contest is Renee Lott. Prizes will be shipped via the least expensive shipping method. Rules, number of prizes, and number of winners may change at Renee Lott’s discretion. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions about the contest .

NOTE: Since there are 4 different contests, you are free to enter as many of the contests as you like. However, you will only be eligible to win 1 prize. For example, if you enter all 4 contests and win the fanart contest, you will be disqualified from winning prizes for the other contests. But if you entered all 4 contests and then lose the fanart contest, you will still be eligible to win one total prize from one of the other contests. Etc etc.

The first Festering Romance fanart?!

Could it be?!?!

Yes it is, the first Festering Romance fanart! Kyle Magnan busted this out on a bit of receipt paper and it delights me. Janet, Paul, and Carol have rarely looked more dapper! Hopefully it will be the first of many?!?!

Lupin III & Rayearth fanarts

As would be expected, as a high school anime fan I drew lots of FANART. Here’s a couple for today:
