Birthday?!?!?! Kramers Ergot 7?!?!?!

Another year, another year older… A few days ago, I celebrated my 25th birthday, the big 2-5, a whole quarter of a century, gee whiz, who’da thunk it?! If I drove, I guess I could rent a car now. Indeed, a milestone!
I wanted to do a little something for my birthday, so Kyle and I went out for steak & ribs. We dropped by the Waldenbooks (now going out of business???) and I picked up a few volumes of on-sale manga. I got a bunch of stuff in the mail too, so that was a nice treat for my birthday. I got some more comics, DVDs, and Kyle’s gift for me: the Star Trek: TNG Shuttlecraft Goddard!

Data piloting the Shuttlecraft Goddard!
I had one of these shuttlecraft as a kid about 15 years ago, but I didn’t remember it until I had toy flashbacks while watching episodes of The Next Generation. I feel kind of silly wanting my childhood toy again, but,*sniffle*, I love my Shuttlecraft Goddard! I got Geordi and Data action figures to put in it (the ultimate Star Trek buddy team) and I’m totally going to PLAY WITH IT (whatever, you collectors)!

Dear lord, it’s Kramers Ergot 7!
Also, a while ago I finally got my copy of Kramers Ergot 7 in the mail! I was afraid I might not get it since the place I had ordered it from had canceled another of my pre-orders, so I was very excited when they finally notified me that it had shipped! The day it came in I went down to my P.O. Box and lugged the gigantic thing home. Once I was able to finally crack the thing open, it really did live up to all my anticipation!

Size comparison with other more normal sized books.
However, even though for a long time I knew the book would be big and huge and hard to store… I didn’t really know how big and huge and hard to store it really would be until I had to figure out how to actually store it! This is definitely a book that demands you pamper it and doesn’t give you much else of a choice since you can’t put it with the rest of your stuff anyway. I had to find a place to lay it flat since that seemed to be the only way for it to resist warping. It’s lucky it’s such an awesome book or the frustration wouldn’t seem to be worth it. If you’re at all interested in the art/indie comics scene, definitely give this book a look if you get the chance since the quality of the artwork and artists is truly top notch!
So, another holiday season come and gone, another birthday passes me by… Not a bad start for the new year. Thanks for looking and keep an eye out this Monday for more artwork from Festering Romance!
