Preparing for SPX!

I will be exhibiting at the Small Press Expo this year with my friends Amanda Kahl and Kyle Magnan. I’ll have copies of Festering Romance, original artwork from the book, pins, and mini-comics available for sale. Come by, get a signed copy of the book, and pick up some free candy while supplies last! I will have special prices for the convention.

Amanda will have Age of Night comics and other mini-comics, and Kyle Magnan will have some Scrambles collections and mini-comics available. There’ll be a lot of cool people and awesome stuff at this year’s SPX, so stop on by if you’re in the Bethesda, MD area this coming Saturday and Sunday!

Since I will be at the convention most of the weekend, new blog posts will be postponed until Oct. 2, so in lieu of new content, COME SEE US AT SPX, EH?

Win Festering Romance and the Bonus Book! – Scavenger Hunt and Trivia Contest

Alright, here’s the last 2 Festering Romance contests! The first contest is perfect for you readers who don’t have a copy of Festering Romance and aren’t too artistically inclined:

FESTERING ROMANCE SCAVENGER HUNT

Somewhere on fridgewithfeet.com, festeringromance.com, and this blog I have placed 15 total “Festering Romance ghost heart” images. Each ghost heart image is numbered 1-15 to help you keep track of which ones you have found. The above image does not count towards the total 15.

So what do you have to do? Find all 15 images on the websites listed and copy the URLs for each in a comment on this post! Since each site is a bit different, here’s a few notes to clarify what type of URL I’m looking for:

a) If you find the images on this blog, give me the URL of the specific blog post the image is found in. Every blog post has it’s own unique URL, so make sure you give me the URL of the blog post and not of a list of blog posts you would get by hitting “Older Entries” or “Newer Entries” since those pages change as new posts are added. To get the URL of a specific blog post, click on the title of the blog post and it will take you to that post’s page. For example, the URL for this blog post would be , not http://blog.fridgewithfeet.com.

b) Since fridgewithfeet.com uses frames, please copy the URL and list the header of the page you find the image on. For example, if you find an image in the “Links” section, list “http://www.fridgewithfeet.com/index2.html, Links.”

c) For festeringromance.com, all of the images should be on pages that have specific URLs, so just list the URLs of the pages you find the images on.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you are not looking at the websites through sites such as Google, AskJeeves, etc that add a frame to the top of the page and cause the URL to get mixed up with their search engine code like “http://images.google.com/…” All of the site addresses should start with http://www.fridgewithfeet.com, http://festeringromance.fridgewithfeet.com, or http://blog.fridgewithfeet.com.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Find all 15 Festering Romance ghost heart images and list the URLs in a comment to this post as detailed above. Make sure the e-mail you enter into the EMAIL section of the comment form is the e-mail address you would like to be contacted at in case you win the contest. Your comment with the list of 15 URLS with a ghost heart appearing on them is your entry for the contest.

2. 2 winners will be decided by random drawings. The first “early bird” winner will be drawn from all valid entries received by September 21, 2009 midnight EST. The second winner will drawn from all other valid entries until September 28, 2009 midnight EST. A valid entry is one that lists all correct 15 URLs. Each entrant is only eligible for one prize total.

This second contest for today is perfect for those of you who already own a copy of Festering Romance, but just want a copy of the Bonus Book!

TRIVIA CONTEST

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Answer all 10 Festering Romance trivia questions correctly. You should not need to make up answers since all answers can be found in the Festering Romance graphic novel. If a trivia question mentions a page number, it refers to the page number used in the printed book.

2. Post all your answers to the trivia questions in a comment on this post. Your comment here with your answers is your entry for the contest. Make sure the e-mail you enter into the EMAIL section of the comment form is the e-mail address you would like to be contacted at in case you win the contest.

3. All entries must be received by September 28, 2009 midnight EST. Winners will be announced on the October 2, 2009 blog post.

4. 3 lucky winners will be chosen from a random drawing of all valid entries with all the correct answers received by the entry deadline. A valid entry is one where all 10 Festering Romance trivia questions have been answered correctly.

Fanart Contest – Win a copy of Festering Romance!

Can’t find Festering Romance in your area? Don’t have the money to buy your own copy? Accidentally destroyed your friend’s copy and now need a way to replace it? Well, now you can WIN your own copy of Festering Romance! Today I’ll be kicking off the first of four different contests that will be announced in this and the next few blog posts! First up is a fanart contest!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTRY:

Step 1: Draw a fanart of any character, characters, or situations from Festering Romance. If you do not own a copy of the book or can’t check out a friend’s copy, you can get more info about Festering Romance on this blog (try the Festering Romance tag) or the official Festering Romance website which includes a 40+ page preview of the book.

Step 2: Upload a jpeg of your image (width of 500 pixels or less) onto a website (your website, deviantart, flickr, photobucket, etc) and link to it/embed it in a comment on this post. Make sure the e-mail address that you use in EMAIL field of the the comment form is the e-mail address that would be best to contact you with in case you are a winner. Comments on this blog are moderated, so your comment may not show up immediately. DO NOT E-MAIL IMAGE FILES TO ME. I don’t want my e-mail bogged down with big files, so I will state now that I will NOT review artwork that is attached to an e-mail. Only comments on this blog post linking to or embedding the commenter’s piece of fanart will be considered valid entries.

Step 3: All comments including links to/embedding fanart that would be considered entries for this contest must be received by midnight EST on September 28, 2009.
